Playskool My First Barrel Of Monkeys

 Expert Review

Review:

It’s the same game you remember - colorful monkey links in a barrel used to make long chains. This time though, the barrel of monkeys is made for preschoolers in a big, chunky size for small hands. Also, the 10 monkeys in the barrel are in different colors and are numbered one to 10. This new look helps encourage young children to learn and identify their colors and numbers and to count. Like the older version of the game, the monkeys all fit back into the barrel for easy clean-up and portability. In addition to the basic learning skills, My First Barrel of Monkeys works a young child’s fine motor skills and encourages creative play.

Great at teaching colors and numbers, fun and interesting.
Wish top locked on though to keep monkeys contained when not in use.

I got this for my daughter for her first birthday and she loves to link the monkeys together. She chews on them all the time and they are holding up very very well.

I bought this toy for my three year old grandson. He had a great time with it. There are so many ways he could play with them. With numbers on the monkeys he could put the numbers in order. He could match the colors together. And of course he could try stringing them together. He could never get them all because he is too short even standing up. The size of the monkeys was very good for a three year old. He also enjoyed hooking the arms to the top of the barrel, going all the way around with monkeys. I'm sure this will be a favorite for a long time.

Great variation on the old Barrel of Monkeys toy. Monkeys are bigger, therefore easier to grip for some children. Monkeys are various colors, making it possible to work on color identification, color matching, grouping.
