Pegboard has little holes where the pegs fit in. Coming in different sizes, the rounded pegs are used to make pictures.
Pegboard is 11 X 8 inches.
Kit includes 1 pegboard, 1 plastic carrying case, 1 set of design patterns, and 280 plastic pegs in 3 sizes (10, 15, and 20 mm) and 6 colors (dark blue, light blue, yellow, orange, red, and green).
Place the pegs in the holes to make a mosaic style picture. When ready to clear the board, just turn it over and tap all the pegs out.
Simple and open-ended play allows for children to use their imagination and experiment with what they can create. Playing with how the size of the peg changes the overall look of the picture lets children develop a better sense of visual cause-and-effect, while giving their fine motor skills a workout.
Very young children can often loose themselves in activities that require focused and repetitive physical movements. Placing the pegs is not difficult, but it does get a little trickier when a single peg, surrounded by other pegs, needs to be switched out. Pressing a finger behind the board and gently pushing out the lone peg can be a good challenge for improving dexterity.
A good choice for kids who enjoy solo art projects, as well as kids who may need something to help them focus during quiet time.
Wash pegs and pegboards in warm, soapy water.
Parts and Pieces
Currently, Quercetti is not selling refill peg sets outside of their home country, Italy, so be sure to keep up with those pegs. If you find a store that sells replacement pegs, please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know!
If 280 pegs doesn’t seem like enough, Fantacolor Modular comes with 6 boards that can snap together to make a large canvas, and includes 700 pegs.
The pegs are small and can easily become a choking hazard for younger children.
