LEGO Soccer Championship Challenge
Unfortunately, this toy is no longer being produced. We are still looking for the best alternative.

Toy Description

For soccer fans young and old, LEGO’s Soccer Championship Challenge allows players to build their own, personalized soccer field and play the game in a foosball-like style.

Play

The premise of the game is very easy. The goalies are controlled by outside handles, similar to foosball, and the players on the field are moved by small levers attached behind them. These levers allow the players to move and kick the balls around the field.

Observations

For soccer fans of any age, the LEGO Soccer Championship toy is similar to the classic game of foosball. With 284 small Lego pieces, you can assemble a full soccer field with ten players and two goalies. Lego pieces are known for being able to come apart easily, but in this Soccer Championship set, the pieces are said to hold together incredibly well. You can follow the directions and create the basic soccer field, but if you’re a soccer lover and want to get creative, you can customize your own fields to your liking. The directions are easy, which makes for a fairly quick set up. Several users mentioned it took them about thirty minutes, which is a pretty standard assembly time for the couple hundred small pieces that need to be put together.

There are plenty of soccer balls included in the set, so if you lose one, don’t worry! The goalies are controlled by foosball-like handles that each person can move around. The players each have a little spring-handle on the back. You push the little lever down to move the player and have them kick the ball. It’s not as fast paced as foosball is, but it’s very similar. It is recommended to keep the field on a flat, hard surface to make sure it doesn’t fall apart, as some users have written that on a rug or softer surface it crumbles.

Care

If the toy gets wet, dry off immediately to keep the Legos from wearing down

To prevent pieces from getting lost, take a small plastic bag to put the small, removable parts in

Parts and Pieces

All 284 pieces are made of plastic and are Legos. Comes with small, classic Lego people for the soccer players.

Concerns

There have been no reports of choking on small parts, but we do not recommend this game for children under the age of three because small parts are included in the package.
