Splish Splash Sink & Stove
An afternoon of pretend cooking and cleaning is made better by a real working faucet. Splish, splash, clean!

Toy Description

Sink and stove upper snaps onto red plastic basin. Faucet pump snaps together and requires a Phillips screwdriver. The playset includes 14 accessories: a pan, a spatula, a pair of tons, two plates, two cups, two forks, two spoons, two knives, and one sink stopper. (We are aware that Amazon only mentions 13 accessories, but Amazon does not include the sink stopper in the count. We do.)

Red knobs on the stove make a clicking sound when turned, similar to that of a gas stove lighting

Dimensions: 6 X 17 X 12.5in Weight: 3.5lbs

Play

Fill the red basin with water up to the fill-line, then attach the sink and stove upper. The pump draws water from the basin through the faucet, allowing children to fill the sink with water. Make a pretend lunch, then wash the dishes!

Observations

Pretend play is important for children, and toys like the Sink and Stove allow for them to let their imagination guide the way. Users were happy to report the toy entertained on a daily basis, and became one of the go-to toys at the end of the day. Whether pretending to run their own restaurant kitchen or just trying to imitate the adults around them, children are reported as greatly enjoying this playset.

Water shoots out the faucet as the pump is pushed down, which may take both hands for younger children. This means children can't wash one hand while pumping down with the other, but we have not found children being put off by this.

Some users keep this toy aside as an outdoor only toy, while others have space in the kitchen where children can clean dishes while the adults clean real ones. Either way, we found the toy is best enjoyed where splashes and spills can be cleaned up easily.

The water shoots out of the faucet a little faster than many expected, so that can create some splashes if there is already water in the basin.

A plastic sink stopped is included in the playset. While it is not perfectly water-tight, users reported that children had no trouble keeping the water in the sink from draining too quickly.

Soap can be added to the water to add to the fun, but care should be taken to not wash toys that are actually dirty, as small particles of dirt or other crud can clog the faucet pump. A few users said they were able to successfully take apart the pump in order to clean out the clog, but some also said the pump never worked properly after getting dirt stuck in it.

The gender-neutral color-scheme is something else many users appreciate.

Care

This toy is pretty durable, so long as the water used is clean and free of dirt and debris. The pump can clog fairly easily, so please make sure children know not to try to wash dirty toys.

Parts and Pieces

While additional parts are not required for this playset, any toy that is plastic, or otherwise won’t be damaged by water, is a great addition.
