Play

Spin, flip, or rock and teeter on flat surfaces, and board down steep hills.

Observations

Most reviewers give this product high feedback ratings. Some kids won’t enjoy it because kids are people too, and that just happens sometimes. But mostly, kids of different ages and skill levels use the toy several times a week, for at least 30 minutes at a time.

Useable on all surfaces, it performs well on wood, carpet, grass, concrete, tile, linoleum, and anything flat. When on carpet, it gets a little more slippery, so use extra caution. We’ve had a few reports of adults busting their backsides as the board takes an unexpected escape out from under them when used on carpet.

Falls happen. Helmets are good.

This toy is an excellent choice for children who need help improving their core strength and balance. Until they gain enough coordination and confidence to stand on the board fully upright, they can take it in stages. Start by just sitting on the board, then work up to balancing on both hands and feet, then work toward a low crouch, and finally a full stand.

A simple search on YouTube will show a huge number of videos showing how to perform various tricks, so take a look there for any inspirations on how to use the board. Our team didn’t try very many of them since our bodies don’t bounce back from falls as well as they did when we were 12.

Of course, adults are able to use this board, too, so long as they don’t mind putting in the effort and dedication to figuring out how far they can push themselves. Keeping it at work and trying to stand on it while working at a standing desk works the core muscles as well as improves ankle strength.

Care

Wipe down with a damp cloth

Wash off with a hose

Store out of direct sunlight, as this can make the tape a little brittle

Parts and Pieces

Many colors available! Blue, Black, Purple, Orange, Red, Green, and Yellow

Concerns

Even though there are no wheels, riders can still take a fairly serious fall. Use a helmet when practicing on hard surfaces to help prevent head injuries.
