N-Strike Elite: Strongarm Blaster

by Nerf
current stage2016-02-27

Fast firing, light weight, and long range makes this gun a favorite among reviewers. Currently sitting at the number one best seller for Amazon’s Toy Foam Blasters category, the Strongarm is a great addition to any Nerf collection or a good way to get started.

The only downside to this blaster it its relatively low accuracy. We’ve found that making sure the darts are loaded properly helps with this.

Users found this blaster to have less-than-stellar accuracy. As with any blaster, accuracy decreases at greater distances, but some reviewers were unable to make contact with a person standing only 20 feet away. We have found that it helps to make sure the darts are fully loaded into the drum. Sensitive to air pressure, these darts need to be pushed down fully into the drum in order to keep any air from escaping around them when fired. This also means any darts with cracks or tears will not fire as well as intact darts.

Priming, or cocking, the blaster does not require much strength, but reviewers said that children under 6 or 7 may have difficulty pulling the slide back all the way. A few reviewers said 5 year olds were capable of using it, but each child is different.

The foam darts do not cause great pain, but we agree with the manufacturer’s warning that the eyes and face should be avoided. At a close range, getting hit may sting a bit.  At point-blank or even less than 10 feet, the dart can hurt on bare skin. Children should be taught not to fire too closely to another person.

Compatible with 7.2cm foam darts.
