Our Review Process

Our leg-work saves you time, and our diligence makes sure you’re getting the information you need.

When we chose to create a site that provided unbiased reviews for children’s toys, we meant it. Simply put, “unbiased” means that we do not receive money in exchange for our work. Not only do we refuse to accept money from toy companies in exchange for reviewing their products, we will not advertise for toy companies, nor charge any fees of any kind for our services. We are not affiliated with any magazine, publisher, or other marketing campaign.

Our loyalty is to you, our readers, not a brand.

Using a meta-analysis approach to our reviews, we seek out any and all information about a product. From the manufacturer, to public blogs, and everything in between, we find, sift through, and carefully scrutinize everything that has been said about a particular toy.

We read many, so very many reviews (sometimes over 1,500!) about each toy. Adding all this data to our own personal experience with the toy, we then create a review that gives our readers access to everything we found, all in one place. Our leg-work saves you time, and our diligence makes sure you’re getting the information you need.

As much as we love reading reviews, we also enjoy hearing from you! Send us a note at info@theguidefortoys.com to tell us how we’re doing, or send us a link to a toy you want to know more about. If we think you make a great point, give us super helpful information, or just say something clever and lovely, we may even quote you on our site. Unless you’re shy and don’t want us to. We respect that.
